Early this year i stumbled (literally) across an amazing old mirror at a local thrift sale. It cost me the princely sum of... £2! Yep £2! (about $3.20US)

It was covered in small glass panes and surrounded with a very unloved wooden frame which had been received what looked like a cost of every colour paint out there. It was very sad, very shabby and so coming home with me. I had an issue, unfortunately i could not fit the window in my car, fortunately i was able to have it delivered. Hurray!

I get my window home, it gets a new lease of life - SEE HERE FOR WINDOW UPCYCLE and i LOVE it. I mean i LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Its not to everyones taste but *sigh* i love it, did i mention that?

Anyone my beauty of a upcycled window needs some pretty decor and as i have roll of burlap handy, our came the scissors and i whipped up this SUPER easy 'no sew' burlap bunting. 

I LOVE thrift store/sale shopping. 

I like the fact that i can find items which are not 'high street' which means i can 'work' on them (my stamp, if you get what i mean) and not only come out with something that is unique to our home but that also cost a fraction of a store price. I also like, no 'I love' the fact that items have a history of some sorts, there are creases in a book for a reason, a little like the dings in this window frame. It has 'history' even though i may never know what it is/was.

Were finally on the last straight to getting our house back to 'normal' after the recent renovation works including 2.5 bathroom refits and a conversion - yikes. A builder/decorator/plaster free home has been a rare occasion and it is amazing to once again have our home back and to be able to 'finish off' the rooms which have been needing off work for so long.
