When we moved to our new home we wanted to personalise it as much as possible, this finally felt not just like a house but a home, we could raise our children here and truly make it unique for us. The first room to get any TLC was our lounge, the tricky part with our lounge was this odd 'behind the door and had no solid purpose but to be a pain' kind of space, this 'space' eventually became my longly wished for reading nook (i.love.it) as our walls were plain and lacking in any 'off the floor' storage we opted for a couple of shelving

This is why i LOVE thrifting!

I had 'bought' this box as soon as i spotted it sat on a unit at a thrift sale, it was coming home with us, no questions asked ...and i hadn't even opened the lid!

Then as i had over my hard earned £3!! (yes £3!) the seller asks if i have seen the dividers inside?

DIY - STAG HEAD WALL ART ON RECLAIMED WOOD MOUNT

When i purchased our beautiful Stag from Marks and Spencer for the not so grand sum of £40 (yes £40....bargain!) i was ecstatic, however this was short lived.

He was grand and majestic and yet looked SO lost against our pale wall, not how he should have looked. After a little searching online (pinterest much?) an idea was formed that he required a "frame" of sorts. As i can never get enough reclaimed wood we opted for a wooden mount, a quick delve in the wooden scrap bin resulted in the following...

THE PLAYHOUSE DIARIES - COLOUR CHOICES

From the day we finally decided to invest in a playhouse for our girls i have been planning (frantically planning!) layouts, design and most of all colour schemes. I think a playhouse is on ever child's 'wish list' and was definitely on mine as child. Even before we had decided on the specific playhouse that we would like i began searching for colour schemes, i knew we would be using Cuprinol paint (check out Cuprinols full range HERE) i have used this before (its brill, so easy to paint with) so it just came down to choosing colours.

I scoured the Internet, mostly Pinterest (you can find my Playhouse Pinterest inspiration board here) and came up with pro's and con's regarding colour choices.
