TALES FROM THE PLAYROOM - KIDS ARTWORK GALLERY WALL [PART ONE] 'DIY' HAND PAINTED BALLERINA

When our playroom was complete a 'Gallery Artwork Wall' was a MUST.
I love the idea of having our girls artwork on the world for everyone visiting our home to see, including them, they were so proud when they saw the frames mounted on the wall for the first time.

As soon as i spotted this craft i knew it would be perfect for our Playroom Art Gallery Wall. It was pink, it was girly and it was SUPER cute!

The wall area i planned on using for the gallery wall is just as you enter the playroom, that way you see the artwork each time you enter and leave the room. Here's an idea on 'the plan'

My hunt for suitable frames was short (first shop!) but i got exactly what i was looking for, i knew plain white frames were a must and ideally an A4 or 8x10 size. I didn't want to spend a lot on these frames as A. They were going into a room designed for children! B. I love a thrifty purchase :)
I found my frames for a grand total of... £1 each!! Bargain!! so the whole set of eight cost £8 - total. Happy!

WHAT YOU NEED
Pink Paint (ours was mixed from red and white as we were out of pink - oops)
Paintbrush
Plain Paper
Scissors
Pink Paper
Scrap Paper
Ribbon
Glue

WHAT YOU DO
> Cut out a ballerina shaped dress,
* tip - i found it easiest to get a scrap piece of paper fold it in half and cut the shape (to make it symmetrical) when i was happy with the shape i traced around the scrap piece onto a sheet of pink (to avoid having a crease through the centre)
> Glue the pink dress to the white paper - leave enough room to fit your childs palm print 'dress' underneath
> Mix up a shade of pink paint that you are happy with.
> Using your paintbrush paint the palm and fingers of your childs hand
> Place handprint on the page to form the tutu shape
> Cut a section of ribbon for the waistband
> Tie a small bow in a second section of ribbon
> When the paint is dry glue the 'waistband' at the top of the tutu and glue the small bow onto the corner
> Don't forget to have your child date and sign
> Frame and admire :)
